I graduated from Skidmore Tynan High School in 1980, and continued my education at Texas A&I University in KIngsville where I recieved a Bachelors Degree. I then transferred to Our Lady Of the Lake in San Antonio, Texas where I was Certified in ESL/Reading. Upon completing my certications I was accepted into the Masters program at UTSA where I majored in Early Childhood and minored in Reading.
I have been teaching 32 years and I am proud to say the last 14 years have been with BISD. I am currently a 6th grade Reading and Social Studies teacher .
I have taught in San Antonio in the Harlandale and North Side districts as well as in the Mathis ISD district in Mathis , Texas.
I also work for Coastal Bend College for many years in the Upward Bound program.
I am married to James Walls who is a Army Veteran with 32 years of service. My two older children are both AC Jones graduates . Amanda is currently a teacher /administrator intern in Katy ISD where she lives with her husband Joseph Henley. She graduated from Texas Christian University and Joseph is an Army Veteran. My son, Richie shares my alumni UTSA (Go Runners!!!!!) . He is currently an engineer in Austin, Texas. My youngest , Jasmine, just graduated from STISD and will begin her nursing degree at CBC this fall.
My home is also graced by my cat Lulu ( Luanna Banana Macintosh Walls ) who was in America’s Most Adorable Pets in 2008, We also have 5 dogs (who don’t know they are dogs shhhhhhh) Maverick Henly Ed Walls a Beagle mix, Toby Jack Achilles Walls who is a Blue Heeler mix, Daisy Suzette Lexi Walls a Chiweenie , Lucianna Jovanni Belle Walls who is a Chihuahua and our newest baby Misty Summers Joy Walls AKA Peanut also a Chiweenie.
My hobbies are mostly spending time with my family and friends who I consider family as well. I also enjoy traveling and exploring new places. I love swimming and relaxing on beaches and riding roller coasters.
I am an active member/volunteer of Operation Homefront where I collect and distribute school supplies (in August) for soldier’s children as well as Christmas gifts during the holiday season. We focus on children whose military parent(s) is /are deployed and children whose parents(s) are on active duty .
